Dave Allerding and Charlie LeBeck founded the Leaning Tree Woodcarvers in July of 1999; we had our first meeting on the second Tuesday in June of 99. We had to establish that there was enough interest in our small community, there were 11 Carvers present and we established that there was an interest in the area... It was decided that we would actually start the Leaning Tree Woodcarvers on the 1st of July. The Membership Elected Dave Allerding President Charlie LeBeck Vice-President and Jerry Midkiff Sec/Treasurer Jerry, has since resigned his position as Sec/Treasurer and Shirley Boulter was elected to replace him for the remainder of his term the clubs Elected Officers are elected for two years.
The Leaning Tree Woodcarvers meet at the Barry Township Hall better known as the "Fire Station" in Delton, on the Second and Fourth Tuesdays from 7PM to 9pm. Dues are $20.00 per year (FAMILY MEMBERSHIP) covers everyone in your Immediate Family, under the age of 18, anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult. For "NEW" Members the club prorates the Dues $5.00 every 3 months by doing this all members dues are due on July 1....
We Try to keep our meeting simple so usually there is 30 minutes or less for Business. When we adjourn from business, then the knives come out and everyone carves till 9PM. We carve at every meeting, someone is always instructing other members in various Woodcarving or Wood Burning projects. Or if you prefer to work on your own project then that works too...
So if you are a Woodcarver or a Wood Burner or have the desire to be a Woodcarver or Wood Burner then you should give a Woodcarving Club a try.

Club Elections were held on the Second Tuesday in July 2005 the results of the election are Dave Allerding Retired as President having served for the past 4 years.. Charlie LeBeck 269-623-2205 was elected President, Roger Shoemaker was elected as Vice President, Nancy Lundberg as Secretary, and Shirley Boulter 269-623-8470 as Treasurer .. The next elections will be in 2009..
